Privacy policy

There is no sign-up and no competition entry on ravelynx.com, and one order form, so there is very little personal information here at all. This sets out what does exist, under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we hold

• Delivery records. Our host and the Cloudflare network log the IP address, page, time, referrer and browser string of each request, which is how any website is served and defended.
• Your cookie answer. One value stored by your browser on your own device.
• Emails you send. Kept while your question is open.

We do not run a competition and do not register participants. Apart from the order form described below, nothing here asks for a name, and no address, phone number or payment detail is ever collected on this site.

Why

To deliver and protect the pages, which is our legitimate interest in running a site; to answer correspondence you begin; and, only with your consent, to count in aggregate which guides are read.

Who else sees it

The hosting provider and Cloudflare. No advertising network, analytics vendor or social platform is connected to these pages, and no external font or script is loaded.

Overseas

Delivery infrastructure operates internationally, so request data may be processed outside Australia; Australian Privacy Principle 8 applies to that.

How long

Delivery logs rotate quickly. Emails are kept while relevant. Your cookie answer stays in your browser until you clear site data.

The order form

One form exists on this site, on the guide page. It collects three things: your name, your email address, and an optional message, plus the item you selected. Nothing else is asked for, and no payment detail is ever entered on this site.

What happens to it: the request is delivered to the publisher through the Telegram Bot API, which means Telegram processes the contents of the message as part of delivering it. Telegram's own terms apply to that transmission. The same details are then used to reply by email, to send payment details and to deliver the file.

The legal basis is the steps you ask us to take before entering a contract, and then performance of that contract. Order correspondence is kept while the order is open and for a reasonable period afterwards in case of a later question about it; it is not used for marketing and is not shared with anyone beyond the delivery described above.

The form also carries a hidden field that is invisible to a person and only ever filled in by automated submissions. If it is filled, the request is silently discarded.

Your rights

Ask us what we hold about you and ask for corrections at [email protected]; we reply within 30 days. If you are unhappy with how we have handled a privacy matter, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner takes complaints at oaic.gov.au.
